Day 1 - Hutchinson, MN

July 8 - Day 1:    69.51 miles - average speed 10.99 - max speed 27.55

Too many miles for first day with the heavy rig - 50 would have been about right.

Camped in a town park on the river (Crow, I think, will check later).  Bathroom has a shower which was an unexpected delight.

No shade at all on Hwy 7.  I feel like an Aiel but my hair isn't red.

Tomorrow will be easier.  I think 45 miles to Cora City.

Patrick was in town and he rode with me this morning as far as the Depot Coffee House.  It was a really nice send-off for me but it foiled my plan to grab a bus in Hopkins.

    Congrats on your launch, I'm excited! Please post sometime a list of the gear you have with you and about how much it all weighs.

    Great to hear you started your adventure with Patrick sharing your initial miles and that you arrived safely in Hutch. A bit of weather coming your way. Heads up.
