Long day but pretty good. Flat rear tire ~20 miles from Baggs; found two wires in the tire, changed the tube, may try to repair original tube later. Last ~12 miles followed the Muddy Creek valley, gentle descent all the way into Baggs. Lots of antelope, two coyotes & one dead rattler. No lunch other than energy food so went straight to only restaurant in Baggs, the Rio Restaurant - great Mexican, rivaling El Burrito. Campground several miles out of town so staying at the Country Inn motel - very nice. Craig, CO tomorrow. Guy told me I have to climb to 7500 ft about 15 miles south of Baggs - oh well, slow and easy.
Milestone 2-C - on I-80 west of Rawlins
Vastness, on & on
Creston Jxn - Hoping to eat here, but, they're closed
Drilling rigs and oil pumping stations all over the place
Milestone #2-D - on 789 ~35 miles north of Baggs
This concludes Milestone #2, finally
Overland Stage line historic marker. Antelope in background, just above marker
Man-camp ~15 miles north of Baggs. Oil & gas and pipeline companies build these camps for temporary workers. Looks a bit like a prison dormitory, surrounded by fencing and in the middle of nowhere, literally.
Over 1,000 miles - very impressive. You must be close to half way through the ride.
